March 19, 2008 - Mayor Bill Haslam joined Mayor Mike Ragsdale and other city and county officials for "Mayors for Meals Day" on Wednesday, March 19.

Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee operates the Mobile Meals program in Knox County. The Mobile Meals Kitchen is located at 1747 Reynolds Street.

Approximately 1,000 mayors across the country took part in "Mayors for Meals Day".

The event recognizes Mobile Meals programs like the one in Knoxville which serves nearly 1,000 residents in the city and county every day.
