Public meeting on the new Knoxville Station Transit Center

November 21, 2007 - On Thursday, Dec. 6 a public meeting will be held regarding the new Knoxville Station Transit Center. The meeting will start at 5 p.m. in the lobby of the Civic Auditorium.

Bill Lyons, senior director of Policy and Communications will be moderator of the meeting. Sam Anderson - senior director of Operations and Efficiency, Cindy McGinnis - general manager of Knoxville Area Transit, Jeff Galyon - director of project development and information technology for the Public Building Authority and the architects working on the project will also be part of the meeting.

Drawings for the new transit center will be unveiled at the meeting, which will include a discussion of the construction timetable for the project.

The Knoxville Station Transit Center is being built on the east end of the Church Avenue Viaduct and is tentatively scheduled for completion in the fall of 2009.
