City schedules baseball/softball officials workshop

Baseball & Softball Program
February 1, 2006 - The City of Knoxville is hosting its annual Baseball and Softball Officials Camp and Scorekeepers Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 18 at John T. O'Connor Senior Center, located on 4529 Silver Hill Drive.

The camp is required for individuals seeking to officiate baseball or softball games in the City of Knoxville leagues for the 2006 season. Participants should be prepared to be outdoors. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; cost is $10, plus additional sanctioning fees.

The Scorekeepers Workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will last approximately three hours. Participants will learn the necessary information needed and required to keep books in the baseball and softball leagues. Cost is $5.

Participants must be at least 14 years old and should bring photo identification (driver's license or school ID) and a copy of either their Social Security card or birth certificate.
