Recycle Those Christmas Trees!
Ijams Nature Center
January 3, 2006 - Ijams Nature Center will accept live Christmas trees for recycling through the end of January.

Just drop off your trees between 8 a.m. until dark at the blue dumpster that sites on the driveway to the Miller Building. Just turn into Ijams' parking lot and take a left, you can't miss it! Please make sure that all ornaments and tinsel have been removed from tree.

Ijams uses the donated trees to fulfill its mission to protect and preserve the native flora and fauna of East Tennessee. Whole trees are piled up along the trails to create places for birds and animals to refuge from the cold. The park also uses a wood chipper to grind up trees for mulch to acidify garden soils.

Ijams Nature Center is located at 2915 Island Home Avenue.
