City to host free Baseball/Softball Camp led by UT Coaches

Caswell Park
September 2, 2005 - The City of Knoxville is hosting a free baseball/softball camp on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005 at Caswell Park on 620 Winona Street from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Sign up Saturday for City Baseball Softball LeaguesThe University of Tennessee Head Coach Rod Delmonico and Lady Vol Softball Co-Head Coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly will instruct the camp. These coaches led both the UT baseball and softball teams to the NCAA World Series in 2005. Ralph Weekly also serves on the coaching staff of the USA Olympic softball team.

"This is a great opportunity for children interested in the sport of baseball or softball to get on the right track to pursue competitive levels," said Mayor Bill Haslam.

All children ages 6-13 are invited to participate. Per NCAA regulations, children in grades 9-12 are not permitted.
