July 29, 2005 - Mayor Bill Haslam confirmed
today the recommendations of the South Waterfront Consultant Evaluation
Committee by extending invitations for interview to three consultant
teams led by Bullock, Smith and Partners, Inc., from Knoxville; EDAW,
Inc., based in Atlanta; and Hargreaves Associates, from Cambridge,
Massachusetts.
Interviews will be held August 17 and 18.
The South Waterfront project requires a combination of planning,
urban design, and technical services to develop an improvement strategy
for the south side of Fort Loudoun Lake between James White Parkway
and the Norfolk Southern Railroad, across from downtown and the
UT campus.
"I appreciate the hard work of the Evaluation Committee,"
said Mayor Haslam. "We received eight high quality proposals,
and the committee faced a difficult task in narrowing the field
to three."
