Regional Training Conference Success Earns Employee Special Honor
KPD
Officers of the Month
Civilians of the Month
December 20, 2004 - Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen today named Jonne Crick as the November Civilian Employee of the Month for the Knoxville Police Department. Ms. Crick has been with the department since September 1997.

Mayor Haslam, Jonne Crick, Police Chief OwenMs. Crick is the senior crime analyst in the Crime Analysis Unit of the Knoxville Police Department. In that role, Ms. Crick is responsible for reviewing crime reports, plotting crime patterns, and developing crime-fighting strategies for the Criminal Investigations Unit.

Early this year, Ms. Crick began discussions with a private company on how the police department could benefit from their specialized training. To secure the training, Ms. Crick immediately began marketing the training session to the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police, the Tennessee Sheriff's Association, and through NCIC notices to law enforcement agencies in surrounding states.

Chief Owen said, "Jonne's hard work paid off. Because of her persistence and marketing, the training session was held in late November with eighteen attendees from five states plus three additional positions for KPD personnel."

Mayor Haslam said, "Jonne is commended for her efforts to bring a nationally recognized training program to the Knoxville Police Department while saving city taxpayers more than $1,500.00 for KPD attendees. We appreciate her desire to better the department for the citizens we serve."
Ms. Crick will receive a signed certificate from the Mayor and Chief along with a free dinner from Bayou Bay Seafood House.
